Wanna date?

Hello peeps, i would like to share my friend's real life story in this post.

Its about my friend Xia. She is single ;) and she was very much obsessed being single. So she decided to find a date to be with. She was desperately searching for some good looking guy to date with, since last month. But she couldn't find him in her local area, as none of them interest her, besides the fact that all the men in her locality are known faces!

Transparent Screens!

Ever wondered how it will be like, to have a transparent screen in laptops?!
Won't that be great to see through the LCD screens of laptops? Have a look a this:

Of course, you can take snap of your laptop and add any image in it using any of the photo-editing software like, Adobe Photoshop, or Gimp. But these images are not "photoshopped", yes, you read it correctly. These images are NOT manipulated using any software! They are they are hot images(word pun intended) direct from the camera. Can you believe taht!? Yes, sometimes our senses fail to convince us.

Here are some more samples to baffle ya :

Again , these are NOT photo-shopped.

Here is the detailed description of the trick involved:

1. Take a picture of the background without the laptop.
2. Then, load that picture into the laptop and crop[cut] it according to the effect and set that as wallpaper.
3. Then, place the laptop so that the laptop wallpaper aligns smoothly with the original background.(now, it will look like the laptop screen is transparent)
   
4. Using professional photography skills, take a snap of the laptop with the background.

The last two steps are the most important ones and demand great skill & patience.

As i said, no need for photoshopping skills here, only photography skills and creativity to inspire people.

I'm an ardent photographer(an amateur, as of now) and interested in capturing everything in its natural form, without sprucing them up.
Coming to this photo..I regularly browse Flickr for inspirational photos.
I spotted this photo in rèi's photostream. Wow..i was flabbergasted by the naturalness in the photo. It is such a timely picture and the black & white mode adds "life" to the photo.

Starting from today, I'll be posting inspiring quotes, proverbs, famous sayings inspired me daily.

Lemme start with a great Chinese quote.

Give a fish to a man; he has food for a day.
Teach a man to fish; he learns a skill for life.

Start teaching others, be it your friend, brother, sister, or your children. Teach them the right thing to do and assist them in learning new things about the world.

Regarding educating the children, just assist; do not do the whole thing by yourself! They should know how the fire will hurt them or how a wound will pain them. If you prevent them from everything, then when will they learn and lead a life on their own.

You need not only educate the children, there are many other people who doesn't know what a gravitational force is..? or how does a scooter/motor vehicle runs..? or how is electricity is produced..? You can educate these people at the right situation and kindle their curiosity in science.

So,start teaching others and lets make our country a zero-illiteracy zone.

World AIDS Day

Today is the WAD-2008.
Yeah, World AIDS Day is observed on the 1st December of every year. This is to educate people about the deadliest pandemic disease the world is confronting now.
All must be made aware of the spreading habits of the disease. This is also the right time to clear the myths about the disease and its spreading habits.

AIDS stands for Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome. But why it is called AIDS? Cuz, once someone acquires the disease, it first attacks the Immune System and destroys all the T-cells, which are responsible for the proper functioning of the Immune system, and makes us deficient in the WBCs. It is called Syndrome, because once AIDS nullifies the immune system, the body is prone to other diseases like Tubeculosis, Pneumonia and other deadly disease.The AIDS itself not a disease, but it paves the way for other disease to enter and attack the human body.

The theme for this year's WAD is Stop AIDS. Keep the Promise - Lead - Empower - Deliver.

We as a responsible citizen must be aware thoroughly of the disease and its spreading methods. We must learn to handle the persons affected by this.

So, spread the word not the disease...! Keep The Promise.

"Cutout Dissection.com, female, 19 yrs." - strange?

A 19 year old girl from Virginia, USA has changed her name to Cutout Dissection.com!! Strange to hear?? Read on..

The former Jennifer Thornburg — whose driver’s license now reads Dissection.com, Cutout wanted to do something to protest animal dissections in schools. A snapshot of her license is shown below:

Her new name is also the Web address for an anti-dissection page of the site for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals(PETA), where she is interning.
The Asheville High School graduate who's working in Virginia said she began opposing dissections in middle school after a class assignment to cut up a chicken wing made her uncomfortable. She helped create a policy at her high school that allows students who object to dissections to complete an alternative assignment.

Despite her legally changing the name, she said most of her family members still call her Jennifer(and it will take time and that's obvious!!).

She said that she normally do have to repeat her name several times when she is introducing herself to someone new. Once they find out what her name is, they want to know more about what the Web site is about.
